If McCain were to use the song "Born in the USA", should he change the lyrics to "Born in the R.O.P."? ?

If the lyrics went "I was . . . BORN in the R.O.P.!", it would more accurately reflect McCain's place of birth, the Republic of Panama, wouldn't it?

Osama was hatched from an ostrich egg in Kenya and his mom was not 19 which the law of the United States said was the age a citizen traveling abroad and had a child birth could pass their citizenship on to their baby. Since Barry's dad was not a US citizen he couldn't either, the couple flew back to hawaii to have the birth registered.

A United States military base is considered to be United States territory.

John McCain's father was serving iin the United States Military on a United States Military base in Panama when John McCain was born.

Therefore John McCain is considered to have been born in the United States of America and meets the Constitutional requirement that the President of the United States must be a natural born United States Citizen in order to hold office.

This is an issue that the Obama people use to change the subject when the issue comes up that Obama was actually born in Kenya, not Hawaii as Obama claims.

All you people need to read up on the treaty we had with Panama.Our bases was not US territory.We had a lease treaty with Panama that said we could lease it in perpetuity, but anyone born in the canal zone was considered a Panamaian citizen.That why McCain has duel citizenship.Also his parents had to get a release from the Panamaian government,showing their son didn't owe any taxes to the government before he could leave the country.

I don't think so-you should read a little before you repeat rumors. Title 8, Sec. 1403 of the US code grants citizenship to certain individuals born in the Panama Canal Zone after 1904. He qualifies, thus is considered "natural born" and is able to run for president.

"(a) Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States. "

Correct. He is not a natural born American citizen at the time of his birth. The rule of law was changed AFTER - when McCain was 1 years old.

Anyways, Springsteen would NEVER let McCain use his song.
