Before anyone bites my head off, I did not say that he is juicing. I just feel like in this day and age, its a question that needs to be asked. Personally I would not be surprised because performance enhancers are a major part of the sporting world today. From baseball, to football, to track and field, and swimming.I realize that he is a hard worker who trains year round, but if he tested positive, how would u feel?

  1. Yeah, I'd be pretty surprised!

  2. This kid is such a boy-next-door cleancut American type that it would shock me right out of my shoes and I would demand confirmation from every laboratory on the planet.  Granted that a lot of our professional athletes (which Phelps essentially is with all the money that comes from standing on top of the world) use steroids, and few enough of them are caught in the act, I believe Phelps just doesn't need it.  He really is that good, and lucky to boot; those 2 heartstoppers prove somebody else is almost as good but not as lucky.  He was also the beneficiary of a huge boost from his relay team; do you wonder if any of those 3 incredible swimmers are on steroids?  Phelps just plain knocked all the competition out of the water, a one-of-a-kind athlete.

  3. I would be surprised because if he was using steroids, he would have greater muscle mass and not be so lean.

  4. i would be very surprised.

  5. You would have to pick my jaw up from off the floor.

But in all seriousness, Michael Phelps just has a body that was made for swimming.  He has a powerful 6'7" wingspan, and his feet can point down 15 degrees past what a normal human can do!  He has gotten more muscular since Athens because he added weightlifting to his training to bulk up (something I am oh so grateful for, it makes him look splendid).  But if I found out he was on steroids, I (and the rest of the world) would be totally shocked.

  6. No,   a lot of American athlete use steroids.

  7. Yeah, if it's revealed that he took steroids I would be shocked.  He doesn't have any of the typical signs of steroids (oversides traps, back-ne, reports of anger, an enlarged head) and is really lean which is hard to get with steroids.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if it's revealed that he took something that is against the rules; whether it be HGH or some other new designer drug.  I'm hoping this isn't the case because he's accomplished some amazing things, but I wouldn't be surprised.

  8. In all honesty I wouldn't surprised at all.  Now, I seriously doubt he's taken steroids for the record, but unfortunately we live in a time now where if someone is wining we have to ask that question.  My only problem with him is the fact that not only is he breaking world records, but he's just smashing the best swimmers all over the world.  Now, I believe some people were just made to do things, but this is a little too much.  I kind of find it hard to believe that he wakes up does some stretches and is out breaking records.  So in a nut shell, It wouldn't surprise me, I don't believe he's taking steroilds however I do believe he is taking something where it be pro-hormones or whatever..

  9. No and for the reasons you say here. I am annoyed that he is being rammed down our throats as someone else we should admire. Please. He's doing something that he clearly loves and enjoys. That is great but it's all about him. What has he done for anyone else?

  10. Actually to be quiet honest I would be surprised if he wasn't taking any enhancers, I'm waiting for the day when they would probably catch him doing something, if not then all the power to him but it seems so unlikely.

Clearly he has the best luck in the world look at him winning to the Serbian in swimming, it can't be anymore clear that he lost that but because he is Phelps he needs to have that 8th gold medal.  Sorry but it seems highly unlikely that he isn't on something, you notice this more when he boosts himself and gets a surge to go ahead of everyone just before the race is about to end, (a sign of something).

  11. Yes, I would be suprised.  He did extra drug testing compared to most athletes...he went for tests everyday.  His results will be testable for the next 8 yrs to prove it.

  12. Michael Phelps is my Hero. (im a swimmer age of 14) and if i found out that he tested positive for steroids like OMG!!!

    i would go crazy!!

Y would he do that! lol

    AHH!!!

my mind goes crazy just thinking about it!

  13. I can certainly understand the question being raised - and I am sure you are not the only one with this in the back of their minds!! It is such a shame that this way of thinking plays such a big part of sport in general these days.

From what I can gather after listening to commentators and interviews with fellow swimmers, is that this guy is just a complete freak (and I mean that in the nicest possible way!!) and would probably excel in whatever sport he took up.

If he tested positive it would shock me and probably about a zillion other people!

  14. Yes, I would be crazy surprised. He is so clean that he offers to get additional drug tests done just to prove it. I highly doubt he needs 'roids.

  15. yes, i would be very surprised, because he is so open to doing more than necessary testing. he is such an inspiration to all, it would almost be a let-down to find out that he uses performance-enhancers.

would make me question what he would look like, too...

  16. I won't.  It all depends on whether it can be detected or not.  US has a very good advantage with the best biotech sciences in the world.

  17. Yes I would be surprised. Michael Phelps magic juice is all in his head. He has tremendous determination to succeed..
