If Microsoft put HD-DVD built-in their XBox360s, could that format have stood a chance against Blu-ray?

They say Blu-ray won because of it being built in with the PS3. If Microsoft did that, instead of a 200 dollar add-on, would it have fared better? And HD-DVD was cheaper too.

i believe so, the install rate of the 360 was 3-4 times what it was for the ps3 for a long time.  building in an hddvd player would have made it unstoppable
