Five gallons of gas would be like drag racing though.  I do not think it would make much of a point  & not fit the profile of stock car racing.

I wonder if people who are so adamant about saving the environment and 'blame' Nascar for the pollution really know where the problem stems from;  The government.  Your question should be posed (and rephrased) on government and finance forum---you are focusing on the miniscule effects of the problem, not the root.

I'm tired of typing all the numbers but my city burns the same amount of gas to fuel an entire 36 race Nascar season every freakin' 90 minutes of every freakin day!!!!!!!!

I hate when people get on gas used by NASCAR, it is nothing compared to the national daily consumption.  It is just dumb and the sign of someone who does not know the reality of oil use in America.  .

a stock car gets 2 miles to a gallon which means they could do close to 10 laps a daytona and i know all this and i am only 12 years old

Sorry, this is the only response I have to this question.

Actually, why don't they have wheelbarrow races instead of using cars, becuase after all, its the NASCAR cars that is ruining the earth.

The driver of the car can push the wheelbarrow, and then every few laps, they can run onto pit road for a drink of water and to get the wheels greased up so they dont squeak.

Come on dude, of all the pollutants on this planet, do you really think that NASCAR is even making a dent on the pollution and the environment? If I were you, I would do some research on some of the chemical companies, nuclear reactors that end up leaking and causing radiation damage, and some other things, before you even start to think that NASCAR is ruining the environment.

no its such a miniscule ammount and the ammount of destruction every nascar has ever put out all put togeather is about .00000000000000001% of what a chinese industrial factory puts out in a single day.  If they got the money let em spend it, but the enviroment factor is nothing compared to everything else, think about how many ppl go to races 100,000 plus fans, thats alot more gas wasted their which is still a miniscule ammount of effect it has
