  1. In classical anthropology, Native Americans are considered as part of the "mongoloid" race or sub-species. (Meaning Asians, or the peoples many Americans used to call "Orientals.") That's as opposed to "caucasoid" (white/ european) and "negroid" (black/ african). Some included "australoid" for the pacific islander/ aboriginal Australians.

As you can see, those terms are not used much anymore, for obvious reasons.  But the majority of anthropologists still would include Native Americans with Asiatic peoples in terms of race.

In terms of checking a box to indicate one's race or ethnic group, that is politics more than science.  So politically and culturally, Native Americans are considered (and rightly so, I think) as different from Asian.

  2. Use logic. You answered your own question.

    ...came from Asia ...

You may be "part Asian" but only in the sense of having DISTANT ancestry from ASIA. Very distant.

  3. YOU ARE...

    Get your DNA tested!

You're probably in Haplogroup A, B, C or D, which all originated in Asia...

  4. Actually, native americans are more than "part asian," you guys are "asian" period.  There has been conclusive genetic evidence pointing to the fact that native Americans are closely related to peoples from all over Asia, so much so, that it is impossible to determine precisely were in Asia native americans came from, most of it is based off speculation on what is known about language and archeology.  The general concensus being, that the most closely related peoples in Asia to the native americans, are the Mongols, and the peoples of Syberia.

Know that you are a blood relative, more or less, of the Mongols, the people who under Genghis Khan, conquered the largest land empire in the history of the human race.  Although, culturally and linguistically, your closest relatives are indeed Syberian Russians.  The tents made by Syberian Russians for example, look much like Tepees, or long houses.  Also there are many words in the language similar to indigenous native american languages.

I am not an anthropologist so don't take my word for it; click on the link that is the source.

    peace.
