Personally I would dislike living in a place where my home could be destroyed. Perhaps they don't mind it that much.

However, to me a home is something not to take lightly. For instance you may have things like old books and family photos that are not replaceable.

I know that these people in New Orleans are saying, "who cares the government will fix it" or "just let the insurance pay for it." I don't know about you but I find that irresponsible.

The Government isn't there to take care of people who make poor decisions.

God Bless Peeps!

  1. Because it's a beautiful place to live.

By your reasoning, nobody should live in California (earthquakes) or the East Coast (killer storms), alongside a river (floods) or in the entire midwest tornado zone.

  2. Perhaps if you tried living there for a while you could find out?

I don't think arguing with people on the internet would give you much of an answer my friend.

  3. nobody would want to leave their home or their state just because a natural disaster, there are natural disaster all around the world.Your house gets damaged then you rebuild it, but home is the best place to be!

  4. its not like we can just pack up and leave

this place is home to us

    wee love the city

    s***w hurricanes

you can save your pics and stuff

but you can never really replace you home

yea you can move other places

    but it wont be home

and this city is soo diff.

its a great city if people give it a chance

  5. I agree. It is foolish to live in a place that has such a high chance of being destroyed on a regular basis by storms.

People who think the gov't owes them a living make me sick.

  6. Because it's home, to a lot of people.

You wouldn't understand unless you lived there.

  7. Anywhere in the WORLD, something can happen. You are no more safe in your home then you are anywhere else. New Orleans is and will always be my home and the people who live there and know the city love it no matter what. Why do people live in California when it has earthquakes and mudslides? Why do people live in New York, when it has snow storms? Why do people live in Florida when it gets hit more by hurricanes then anywhere else in the States? Why do people live in the central US when tornado's always hit? BECAUSE IT'S THEIR HOMES! Where they want to live. Unless you have been through what we have been through please stop being so ignorant.
