Question:

If OPEC sells oil for 136 a barrel but buys U.S. grain at $7 a bushel, why don't we raise our price of grain?

overly simple? maybe. i'm sure it's not that simple but i am not a expert on world markets and it sounded like a good idea.

  1. Most opec nations do not import large amounts of US grain and corn.  You will be "punishing" or "getting revenge" on African, Far East, European and Latin American countries that do not export much oil to the USA.


  2. That will probably happen this year. With all the flooding this month alot of corn crops have been destroyed-the price will do a big jump.

  3. Both are sold on the open market to the highest bidder. I guess there is a greater demand for oil then for grain.
