Why choose another Washington insider who has been there for over 31 years in Biden? Where's the "Change" in that?

  1. The "Change You Can Believe In" is Obama's mind.

  2. He's a walking contradiction.  The only thing he's changed about the political game is that he's upped the ante.  Period.

His record of "reform" is weak compared to that of Biden, McCain, or Palin.

  3. The real problem is that the Republican Party has abandoned its own ideals, and thoughtful Republicans are furious.  No longer does the party stand for small government and individual rights and states rights and American troops fighting only for America.  The reason for this abandonment of principle is pure power.  Once in office, in control of both houses of Congress, they spent our nation into the ground and wiped their butts with the Constitution.  All Republicand have left now is name calling (as you see every day here in Answers).  Republicans need to lose and rebuild the party from its roots once again.

  4. He needs a VP there for advice. If his VP was someone without experience they wouldnt be able to help him much, but it isn't McCain's experience that Obama doesn't like its his willingness to vote with the current whitehouse more than 90% of the time.

Change doesnt mean lack of experience it just means not doing what we're doing now

  5. good point, well taken!

  6. Obama is a lying, flip-flopping, inexperienced, racist P.O.S., that's why.

  7. Castro said he would bring change to Cuba.  Look how that turned out.

  8. McCain wants to be president yet he has had 26 years in the Senate to do something about the problems he suddenly has "solutions" to.  Why didn't he do something about improving our oil crisis during all those years?  No,he did nothing.  Instead he took bribes from the Keating and others in the savings and loan industry.  He has changed his policies on every topic so many time, each time he tries to run for election.  Pandering is his middle name.

  9. Welcome to politics, where everyone contradicts themselves and expects you not to notice.

  10. yeah he's going to change the skin color in the white house

  11. Answer me this one:

When has a rich Republican ever gave a d**n about you--specifically--at any time during their long careers?

The only time they actually give a whit is when it comes to ELECTION TIME.

At least Democrats are doing something about improving people's lives--other than during the primaries and general elections.

  12. Wasn't much for the dem's to choose from since Michelle nixed Hillary for the VP spot.

    McCain-Palin 08

  13. He couldn't pick Hilary because that would be more of the same. No change there either.

He needed balance. I first remember him during the Judge Thomas hearings, I thought of him as a used car salesman with the fake teeth and hair transplants.

After seeing him on some talk shows before he was picked, I got to like him more. He's knows the game and how things are played. He would be a good advisor to Obama.

  14. McCain isn't bad for serving 26 years in Congress, he is bad because he has mostly held the status quo for those 26 years, and has done almost nothing to bring about change when he has the opportunity. Seriously, what has McCain done that makes you want to vote for him? Only thing I can think of is the McCain-Feingold bill, which he just cosponsored anyway, and it probably has something to do with countering his past association with the Keating 5 scandal.

  15. Because libs LOVE being hypocrites.

    :)

  16. Who the h**l cares about how long someone has been in Washington? It's about having the right policies and the right management skills. In what other job is having experience a bad thing?

I suppose you would say that Bush was not a Washinton insider, and look what a disaster that moron has been.

  17. He's divided between his own beliefs and his desire to get elected.  What a pity.

  18. The problem is the Republicans that cater to big business.  Republicans are for big business and turn their backs on the people.  That is the change he is talking about.

  19. Both tickets seem to have a balance of new and old politics. What I see as the real choice is whether we want to 'change' the system and add many new government social programs using socialistic approaches, or whether we want to 'reform' the current system to meet the challenges of the future using entreprenuerial and other business approaches.  I think both sides are commited to improving foreign relations.

I think socialism is not the solution, but that reform is in order.

  20. If he thinks that serving in Congress is bad, then why is he doing it himself?  D'oh! (shoots self in foot).  Well, McCain's vp is inexperien...D'oh! (shoots other foot, left without a leg to stand on)

  21. Obama's bamboozled his sheep.

  22. yeah, he chooses a 2 time looser for president who couldnt even get past the first month in the primaries!

real good strong choice there wasnt it!!

if the guy wasnt liked enough to get past the first month, then how does obama think the people will jump behind that guy now?

  23. Why wouldn't he pick someone with more experience than him?  As a team, Biden will provide the insight on foreign affairs and other issues that Obama is not so experienced in.

It is not about being a hypocrite, it is about strengthening your ticket to provide the best Executive administration for this nation in this critical time and point.

  24. There is no "change" in that, Obama simply picked Biden in order to counteract the criticism that he was inexperienced.

If Obama truly was a "new" type of politician that represented "change" he would have been the one selecting a Sarah Palin like candidate, not the ultimate Washington insider.

  25. Good job, you figured it out

  26. He needs the contrast. He is all about change, but he needs a more experienced teammate to counter the criticisms people make about his inexperience.  Also, Biden is clearly white, middle-class and will appeal to people, at least that's how I imagine they reasoned it, who might have reservations about voting for a black man and is part of the Establishment.

I think Obama is all wrong for America plus or minus Biden.  McCain is a similar train wreck.  It was Hillary or nobody.

  27. ...AND BHO's so called experience is 147 days in the same Senate!
