[My] background may lack the polish of Washington. Then again, I don't have a lot of things that come with Washington. I don't have enemies to fight. I have no stake in the bitter arguments of the last few years. I want to change the tone of Washington to one of civility and respect. --Bush

I know I haven't spent a lot of time learning the ways of Washington. But I've been there long enough to know that the ways of Washington must change.

There's no shortage of anger and bluster and bitter partisanship out there. We don't need more heat. We need more light. I've learned in my life that you can stand firm in your principles while still reaching out to those who might not always agree with you. –Obama

  1. Most politicians do not write their own speeches. Sounds like they have the  same one!

  2. It's because those are the only ideas that are available. You see every politician wanting to "bring peace to Region X", ad stuff like that. Every few decade, a person comes in to office that revolutionizes the way things are done, people like Ronald Reagan.

You have to learn to never trust campaigns. Campaigns are just competitive power struggles. "change" is a political agenda that has proven itself to be a good vote-winner. People will do anything to get into power. The personality of a candidate is often more important than their opinions.

  3. Well, he can run on his accomplishments, which are few, he cant run on his promises because he cant deliver, people are sick of the race card, and he really has nothing left to offer except the same tired old politics. What is amazing is that his followers seem to think it is all new. No wonder people are starting to make jokes about obama supporters.
