If Obama is just a celebrity, then what was Ronald Reagan! Didn't he turn out to be one of the nations best?

Ronald Reagan rescued America from Jimmy Carter.  Under Carter we had hostages in Iran, double digit inflation, high unemployment and stagnant growth.  Reagan's economic policies cured all these problems.  Even if he did not solve these problems his defeat of the Soviet Union through his policies were enough to make him one of the greatest presidents

No Ronnie did NOT turn out to be one of the best.  Ronnie and little georgie bush had a lot in common they both were grade b, or c actors on the stage of life, and both were selected by the PNAC to occupy the White House.  Both had hand picked Vice Presidents to guide them, both in the end were disasters.  You really do need to do a little research into what transpired during Ronnies eight years in the White House.

I think Reagan was one of the worst presidents because he was a liar and a fraud. He made government bigger while cutting taxes for the rich. He was not honest about what he did. He called for smaller government but yet he didn't decrease the size of government. He did not practice what he preached. I agree with you about Obama to a degree. I like what he has to say. We have some major problems. It's not going to be quick and easy. I think Obama is definitely a better choice than McCain though. But it depends where you are. The very wealthy will do better under McCain, at least on the surface. When you start calculating other things like inflation then I think they are not better off at all. But when you are so wealthy it is easier to insulate yourself from the hardships faced by most Americans.

edit: Www.scap is right. That is what Reagan said but he didn't do any of it. He was a big liar.

Reagan was a leader. He made all of us feel good about America. He ran on a very simple platform. Defend the country, fix the economy and make the government smaller.
