This question is for all you special Obamers. If Obama was to urge all of you to get jobs and an education because he'll go strict on government aid program policies and only issue help to those that really need it, would you still give him your vote? Be as honest as you can! It's okay!

  1. IF he were somehow super human yes.  But the climate that he creates leads me to believe it basic nature with its spoils.

  2. I think he would lose his black base.

Edit - "Nicole"- that is incorrect.  Blacks make up only 13 percent of the general population, but constitute 38% of welfare recipients. Do the math.

  3. It depends on what you are trying to say. If you are say he would say "get a job and work for what you want", then yes. If your saying, "get a job and I would rise the taxes so you can afford it even if you have a job", then no.

  4. I guess you assume that alot of people that answer on Y/A may be on welfare. Well I think you may have 99 % on Y/A that are very educated and not on welfare. There are alot of educated people voting for Obama ,so I think you need to do more research. I know there are some people on welfare who abuse the system, but there are some who genuinely need the help. Bill Clinton changed the welfare system, that requires you to get a job after beiing on the system for I believe 2 years. Thats great!!! I dont like lazy people either. I am voting for Obama because he is the better candidate.

  5. I have a job, so your ignorant stereotyping doesn't apply to me, or any of the other Obama supporters in my family, as a matter of fact.

I guess that means you should get out of your trailer park, stop sleeping with your brother, and lose about 300 pounds, since you're a Republicanazi?

  6. Sure,  Like the welfare to the warfare state of halliburton?   And all the extra tax breaks to the wealthiest 1% of Americans ( after all how many rolls royces and extra homes do they need?--oh yeah on that last one it is 7 for McCain)  Unemployment rate out here in California ( and that is the government figures which are under reported) is 7%  and growing thanks to the Repubs.

  7. Yes! It's about time someone got strict with welfare. Whether he has said this or not, I have no clue.

Oh and Eddie H, there are more 'White People' on welfare than black, get your facts right.

  8. I thought he was doing that, kinda.  I thought he said he wanted to expand the transitional job programs to get people off welfare.  I, as a current welfare recipient, actually would still vote for him if he did that.  There are people that do take advantage of the system and that aren't trying to get on their feet.  I live in California, and they require 32 hours a week of work or school, which I think is great.  I am currently in school and would have gone regardless of wether or not they made me, but there are many who wouldn't.  Then those that want to get off, it just isn't worth it.  I will be getting off in a few months but that is because I went through school and can get a good job to further finish my schoolon my own, but for many, they are stuck with minimum wage jobs when they get off, which menas pennies.  In california, one minimum wage job will pay the rent and utilities for a 1, maybe 2 bedroom apartment.  But then you still need childcare, food, gas, other bills, and other necessities.  Childcare alone is almost another fulltime minimum wage job.  So you see what I mean it is hopeless sometimes.  with a better transitional job program it will help these people get off and stay off.

  9. Actually, Obama has said that he's going to "cut the fat" from a lot of programs that aren't doing what they're supposed to, which includes welfare programs.

  10. If you believe that boy have I got a deal for.

  11. He has indicated he would slightly increase welfare so.. if you are saying "strict" being no raise then I don't think there would be an issue because he only wants a slight or cost of living increase in Welfare.

Strict on Education?  like bush?  he wants to add more to K12 education and be "strict" with higher Ed now.   No candidate is "strict" on Education.  Even Mccain wants a slight increase in overall education.  I would be concerned if he was "strict" on education.

If Obama was strict on affirmative action... that would be fine for me.

Obama would slightly increase welfare, greatly increase k-12 Ed and Healthcare.

Mccain would only decrease on Arts and Space Exploration everything else would stay the same or slightly increase.

  12. So long as he makes good on his promise to buy me a HDTV, he is my man!!!

  13. All we have left *is* minimum-wage jobs here in the US. Right now, this nation has a "service-sector" economy.

There is no manufacturing base to speak of anymore. Everything's gone to automation.

And with education plainly out of our reach (because of skyrocketing tuition and college costs), how do you propose we go to school to get those better jobs which have left this country for places like China and India?
