Question:

If Obama wins--will it largely because the Republican brand is tarnished?

Just how tarnished is the Republican brand from the Bush administration? Is the GOP ruined for the immediate future? Why else would a neophyte without a shred of real credentials be leading a veteran with a long resume of legislation and a sometimes maverick voting record?

  1. I believe the liberal media has deliberately manipulated the nation regarding Obama.

  2. Obama can't win because of the Evangelical vote and the Clinton votes and the GOP now has a conservative female runner, so this means curtains for Obama's presidential future.

  3. I believe your right as a republican I think Bush has ruined the Republican brand and now people will vote for anybody, including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or some one raised by a Muslim and a Atheist.

  4. I think if he wins BIG as in over 300 electoral votes that will be a part of it.

  5. Of course it's Bush.  GW pretty much sank his party and sank the country.  Bush has ran up more red ink than all of his predecessors, combined.  It would have been interesting to see how the country would have turned out if he had beaten Bush 8 years ago, but that's ancient history now; all he's done is rubber stamp Bush's agenda.

  6. Although Obama has certainly tapped a segment of society that has previously been rather inactive in the past (as voters), I think ultimately the reason he will be elected is for the failings of the Republican party.

Since given the reigns of Congress in 1994, and through president Bush's two terms, the ideals that gave them control have been discarded and they've governed as democrats.  Why in the 14 years of control was spending not controlled, the growth of government not slowed, our borders not secured, or energy independence obtained.

These reasons, amongst others, is the reason that the Republican base is disheartened and not eagerly supporting John McCain, although I have sensed some enthusiasm since Palin has been named as his running mate.

Whether or not it's too little, too late, remains to be seen.

  7. I had been a registered "Independent" for over 45 years, I am now a registered Democrat.  The PNAC has destroyed the GOP.  I will never again vote for another republican
