Don't get me wrong, I really like Sarah Palin a lot. The thing is, I also like John Stewart, but I'd never ever vote for him for president. So liking her aside, do you think if she were a man McCain would have picked her or would he have picked some other young Governor like Mark Sanford who has similar ideologies, but is better qualified?

I don't like the idea of McCain making decisions based on politics and he's not even been elected yet. Yikes!

  1. I'm sure he wouldn't have. He needed someone to pander to the extreme faction of the party and Sarah is a fundamentalist. He needed someone young, so he could seem like he might be capable of having fresh ideas.  Those are the only two things I think he really needed, but he was probably advised that this lady brings those two, and she brings women because she is a woman.

Only women who are very right leaning would ever vote for her, so the idea that he will bring women generally is ridiculous. She's bringing women that would have voted Republican no matter who was on the ticket.

I think he could have chosen a much more qualified young male with the same fundamentalist ties, and it would have been a smarter choice. But, I don't support him, so I am happy about the pick.

  2. NO

  3. Yes, of course!

  4. No way! He needed this Hollywood drama to take the spotlight off Obama.

  5. I think he went for the connection to Alaska and their energy sources, because it looks like an instant solution. Also, the fact she is a woman to court the Hillary votes.

    Obama/ Bidem 08!

  6. Nope, it's obvious McCain was going after Hillary supporters when he picked Palin, which is lame.

But don't get me wrong, Palin does seem to fit McCain's message, but picking her is extremely risky, and I only see my reason as the only possible explanation.

  7. No he only did it to get the women voters...

  8. I really doubt that he would have.  Half of what he wanted to accomplish was to try and win over some Hillary supporters.

  9. I don't think so.  But then again, Obama wouldn't be where he is today if he weren't black.

  10. no, he only picked her to get the women votes he knows real republicans cant stand him. This was his only way of staying in the race to pick a right winged women he doesn't care about her views or polices h**l he doesn't even agree with alot of her views on things look at the way both of them of voted in the past.
