  1. yes, the driver does not get that fee.

  2. Absolutely, the drivers get payed like waitors do, the store keeps the delivery charge, and the average vehicles cost 50 ccents per mile to operate when you fatcor in vehicle purchase/replacement, maintenance, and fuel.

50 cents per mile, just think about that.  If your 5 miles out (and 5 miles back), and they bring you your food, it cost them 5 bucks out of pocket, to be fair you need to pay them 5 dollars or whatever it cost them PLUS a few bucks for them to keep.

Tips should be 3 MINIMUM for only the shortest of short deliveries and anywhere from 6-12 for the farthest fo the far, 5-7 dollars is usually ok.  You shoudl base it on how many miles the driver has to drive not how much the order is.

If you think its too expensive then dont order for delivery, like it or not, it cot the delivery driver the same thing it woudl cost you.

  3. I would say yes because somtimes they will make the delivery people pay for gas

  4. YES, ALWAYS GIVE THEM SOMETHING

  5. No...delivery drivers get paid for the gas they use. That tip included is there's. But I still always tip extra..cause what they add is not enough. Fresh Hot food delivered at your doorstep? What more could you ask!!

  6. Yup! You should still leave something. The reason why there is a delivery charge is the charge is for the restaurant itself so they make money on the delivery. The driver receives nothing of the delivery charge - unless the owners are nice.

  7. I think you should still tip. The person is putting wear and tear on their vehicle to deliver your pizza. Plus, the way I see it, maybe I will get the same delivery person, and they might give me better service later. Like, they are delivering 3 pies, and I am a little out of the way from the other two, but the person delivers mine first, and makes two others that either don't tip well, or at all. Their pies won't be as fresh as mine, and mine would be hotter than theirs. Plus, they could add a little more topping to my pizza over others.

I have recieved extras, little things like extra bread sticks, etc, because they appreciate the extra tip.

  8. Yes, it is because the drivers don't get to keep the delivery charge.  They only get a portion of it based on the length of the trip.

  9. I would think that they would expect a tip, but if they would want a really good tip, they provided really great service. But of course they really don't seem much of the custmors as the waiters/servers do.
