  1. They did,but he burnt too many children while toasting their marshmallows during beach fires by the sea.


  2. They'd have to negotiate the rights from Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary....he wrote it. Also...they may have to speak with a  chap named Leonard Lipton.

    It started as a poem in 1959 when a Cornell student named Leonard Lipton wrote a poem named "Custard the Dragon". Lipton passed it on to fellow Cornell student Peter Yarrow, who added more words and music to it, and changed the dragon's name (thankfully).
