If Rocky Balboa were to really fight Ivan Drago from Rocky IV, and taking into account their body sizes (Rocky 5' 9" Drago 6' 5") who would have really won that boxing match?

  1. It not the size of the boxer, it the power of the punch.

    I would go for Rocky.

  2. There would be no fight.  The BBC would never give a license to such an old man.

    BBC=Boxing Board of Control

  3. the ref would've stopped it early in the first round ...drago would've won, having said that no one could punch as hard as drago is supposed to.

  4. he would be rich

  5. Well sometimes miracles happen and underdogs can win sometimes, if Rocky was a real boxer and judging his height at 5'9" I would've thought he would be too small for any of the real heavyweights because Mike Tyson was considered a small heavyweight and he was 5'11" so Rocky should be a super middleweight if you ask me. That's about 168 pounds or 12 stones.

  6. You have to keep in mind that Rocky in the movies always kept his hands down and took a ton of Jabs and Crosses to the face from opponents like Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago. No boxer in real life could keep his hands down at chest level and take that many hits without being knocked down several times, and even if he didn't get knocked out, any referee in his right mind would call a technical knockout for Rocky's own safety. However, if Rocky kept his hands in front of his face and used the peek-a-boo, move in at angles and punch strategy utilized by Mike Tyson during his prime, Rocky might have a chance, although Ivan Drago would probably win on points for the faster and more accurately landed Jabs and Crosses. So in all, I would say Ivan Drago.

  7. well rocky would be to small to be a heavyweight boxer . But if was a real boxer

a he had to fight drago , Drago would win by the 4 round by KO

  8. "its not the size of the dog in the fight its the size of the fight in dig"          Rocky Balboa would win

  9. Drago

  10. Rocky would nut him in the balls

  11. Rocky would win simply because he had more heart and could take a punch like no other.  Drago hit hard, but to quote the latest Rocky movie: "Its not about how hard you can hit, its about how hard you can GET HIT and keep moving forward...  Thats how WINNING is done."  Drago was stronger, but he had no heart, and Rocky perservered because he took everything that Drago had and still kept coming after him.  Also remember that when Drago fought Rocky, it was his first professional fight (the Apollo Creed fight was an exhibition)- in real life there is no way that someone coming out of the amateurs would challenge the heavyweight champion of the world in their first fight.  Thats why its only a movie and it is only meant to entertain us.

  12. Rcoky Is A real boxer. They just flipped his life story. His real name is Rocky Marciano. And Yes

  13. Ivon Drago sad to say because if you noticed that in Drago's training montage, he ran on the treadmill a distance of 65 miles and the punch power of him was quadruple a normal heavyweight and the way that he killed Apollo Creed, Rocky would be sure to lose.

Rocky did quite a bit of training to be sure, however this in real life would not be enough to gain a win from Dragp.  Also in real life Drago broke four of Rocky's ribs.  In the film when Rocky said "i can see three of him", That would have been it, Drago would have noticed Rocky breathing hard.  The advantage would be in Drago's ring.

Ok Rocky has got determination but Drago has got the future equipment (at that time since that was 1985) and steroids.  Rocky would not have the ability to go the distance.  The most believable fight he has ever done I think would have to be the last fight for Rocky III.

In Rocky 3 the press said that Rocky was fit enough to pro.  So this also fits into your question when you said if Rocky were a real boxer.  This was also because he was train during Rocky III by Muhammed Ali and Joe Frazier.

Rocky in a way has got an advantage for a short while of getting Drago in the ribs, so in a way it does pay for Rocky to be small (ok he don't have a choice, h**l i'm just saying).  I think the most realistic training montage of Rocky's was the last one.  Then again the music to his training montage in Rocky IV was very enjoyable and watching the training.

Rocky would have definately died when he versed Tommy "the machine" Gunn in the street fight.  In Rocky V they had to say he had brain damage otherwise it would be farfetched more so if he walked out the ring with no side effects.

Rocky didn't die in Rocky V due to the fact that Slyvester Stallone said that it was his character and it would be like killing off Superman.

  14. normally the taller the boxer the longer the reach so the taller boxer will normally have higher odds of winning.

Don't be fooled though i've been in many fights (martial arts sparring not street fights), i'm 6'1" with a powerful punch and strong kicks and still been beaten by quicker, and if i'm honest more skilled, fighters than me.

  15. well, considering Rocky's known punching power and having a hear of a lion, i would say rocky balboa... he did go through intense training during his film career.. he was the ultimate boxer...

  16. Ivan Drago would have won that fight if it were really real.

  17. drago would have smashed him

  18. He would have been knocked out very early in the fight.

  19. Rocky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
