Could I listen to both XM channels and SIRIUS channels on the internet or on my SIRIUS satellite radio receiver, if both companies merge together?

  1. I heard that it didn't go through so I don't think that it matters.

  2. As of today, the FCC has not approved a merger between the companies.

So we wont' know unless the FCC approves the merger.  If it is not approved, then of course, it's irrelevant.

here are good articles from the Washington post and Forbes.

  3. i think its kinda weird when u can listen to free internet radio all day everyday .www.hnhradio.com

  4. Hey Alex, your question showed up twice for some reason. But I notice another answerer doesn't think the deal will go through. Actually there were some breakthroughs last week that make it seem more likely that the deal will get done in early to mid- '08.

One of the things promised by Sirius boss Mel Karmazin (who will undoubtedly end up as CEO of the merged company) is a special deal where you'd be able to select your favorite 50 stations from each service and only pay $6.99 per month for that new plan. Or keep the full service for about $13 (what you are paying now). There will also be other deals. Plus, all the sports will be available, so you don't have to choose which service to get based on whether you like football or baseball - you'll have it all: pro and NCAA.

To do what you propose in your question - at least in the beginning - would be about $26/mo ;<)
