Question:

If Sachin Tendulkar were an Australian, would he be in their cricket team now?

Autralian would never allow a player in their team purely based on past performance. Sachin would have been axed and would not be a part of their team. Only because he is Indian he will play till the kingdome comes irrespective of his form and no one will sack him. Do you agree?

  1. Do you think that Sachin is out of form for more than 6 matches????

in any time of his career

  2. No , Going By His Present Performance . His Place In The Team Would Not Be Sure.

  3. perhaps  now ,...acording to his poor form he will be axed ~

  4. I don't agree with ur opinion. Recently, even Ricky Ponting was out of sorts and was in his worst form but still did the Aussie selectors drop him???

Sachin Tendulkar, the name itself speaks volumes of the stature of this man. Given his status, expectations are so much that even a few flop innings are enough for people to point fingers at.

India is lucky to have a player like Sachin Tendulkar playing for them. Unfortunately for Australia, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath had to go for  innumerable runs through Sachin's bat!

  5. no he must have kicked out.he is one of very old cricketer.and his performance also varies. i am fully agree with u.

  6. he will be there

  7. I think if he were playing for Australia, he would be performing better. The responsibility (we assign him with) of batting will not be a burden on him, and he will be relieved most of his pressure. Tell a name that could replace Tendulkar in the Indian Team and justify your choice? It will be hard. I could say majority of followers of Indian cricket does not want him to retire, let alone sacking. All the selectors could do is 'rest' him.

Sack Him? Who will take the risk?

    Easy said than done.

  8. Past is History,If in australia he for sure was a commentator.

  9. yes, of course. coz there is only one Sachin.

sorry to say, but we Indians always expect cricketers to be the best everytime. this is life. you have ups and downs in it. we should support the Master Blaster coz he is the king of cricket.

  10. no, never if he was in the aus team, they would remove him 2-3 years ago.

yes, they would sack him because they don"t want player who played in the past best but now is out of action.

  11. Australia will be the champion forever till sachin retires.

Anyway Australia is already the champion!!!

  12. HE IS SURELY GOING TO GET ELIMINATED FROM THE TEAM IF HE WAS IN AUS TEAM. AS THEY KNOE THE VALUS OF YOUNGSTERS

  13. first of all

    to the person above

    BCCI never takes

    it only gives

Champions trophy will be held in Pak

    to questioner

    sachin is not aussie

    so matter ends there itself

    nice story though

hope i read it at some point

  14. No i doubt with his form and performance over the last year that he would be in the team..

We have to many batsmen to squander a position on someone who is not performing up to expectations of the Australian team..

  15. Yes, you are right. I think the Australians would have not even considered Sachin purely on the basis of past performance.

  16. Agree with EXORCIST. Sachin Tendulkar is not Australian. Don't waste your brains energy on "What Ifs".

  17. long back , he would have been their coach.

  18. LMAO! He wouldn't get a look in! You gotta be jokin? We may be a tad short of quality players just now, but we aint that hard up. lmao

  19. The question is asked expecting a NO amnsweer. But this is not true.

4-5 consecutive failures can be found in anybodys career which is 100 plus matches. Please show me a example from Australia for players like Hayden, ponting, waugh, border. All of them failed at some stage of the career.

Criteria for such players dropping should be to see the way they are playing , not always stats.

You should know what Navil Card once said " Figures are like bathing Beauties. They reveal a lot but what they hide is more vital"

  20. No way.

  21. Think about the present ...Looking at his current form we could say that Aussies would have bunked him out of the team(if he was an Australian..)It's his luck that he became an Indian so that sentiments always give him a chance.

  22. yap....totally agree

of cos we wouldnt keep him

He has played brilliantly in the past, but I seem to think his time has gone.

  23. They didn't sack Ricky when he was going through his bad form, then why would they sack Sachin? Sachin is the best, he is just out of form now! He still has some cricket left in him, i think he should be given 2-3 chances more!!!

  24. It is  hard to believe he would be, he has certainly been having a bad run of luck lately.

  25. he might have before, but he's having such a bad stroke of luck the Aussie would have booted him by now.

  26. I think that Dravid should go first, ahead of Tendulkar. Dravid, Wasim Jaffer, Yuvraj Singh and KKD Karthik have proven that they are now inadequate for test match cricket and should be consigned to dustbin of history. Tendulkar's performances are average and he can be tolerated, since anyway, there is no fresh talent that is latent in the country.

Probably, they should have a policy of retiring one player after every 2 series, based on performance in these two series, permanently, from test and ODI cricket. No re-cycling. Perform or Retire.

    That policy alone can work.

  27. no way

the australians wud never ever keep him in the team now!!!!

  28. If Sachin were and Aussie he would have been in the team for a very long time.  The usual process for champion players in Oz who are approaching the end of the career is that they are usually advised by senior players or management that they are not performing and they should consider their position.

Unfortunately, if he was trying to get in the team now, he would not,  his current form.

  29. He would have been retired till now.

  30. whom do you want to replace with Sachin, he is still the best !

form is temporary, class is permanent, its just the conditions of Sri Lanka , where no one is doing well except the openers!

he did well in Australia, if you keep sacking players based on few matches, you will never be able to set up a team !

    hope it helps!

  31. yes, and consider ponting's example for being out of form
