If Sammy Peter loses to Oleg Maskiev, will he be considered a former WBC Champion?

Fighting both the "K boys older one first"? Hmm... I thought he already lost to the younger and never fought the older ... I better check my Boxing history. Until now I thought I was pretty dead on ...

Peter beat Mastiev on saturday night so he is the full WBC champion now. But had he lost im not sure what he would have been considered, as interim titles dont and shouldent really count.

He didn't, he won, so it's a moot point.

He'd be considered "former interim champion", a title which, along with 75 cents, won't even get you a warm, stale Pabst Blue Ribbon.  

As of this writing, though, Peter knocked out Maskaev. . . so he won't have to resort to trading in his Miller products just yet!

when peter fought the klitcsko in 2005 his power looked amazing but his stamina was terrible. The older klitcko brother probably wants the fight because he wants to be the undisputed champion. I think peter will give him a lot of trouble if he is focused. we all know that klitcko will out box him but can klitsko take his power because this will be a brawl.

Well, he won the fight so he is now the "full" WBC heavyweight titlist.  If he lost he would not have been considered a former champion because he never actually held the WBC title until he beat Maskaev.  And you are correct, so far he has only fought Wladimir and lost a decision, but the putrid WBC is enforcing him to fight Vitali now because, long story short, when Vitali retired he was promised an automatic shot at the WBC title if he decided to unretire, and since he is coming back, they are enforcing his fight with Peter (the new WBC titlist).  Personally I would much rather see Peter fight Wladimir again because that would give us the first TRUE heavyweight champ since Lennox Lewis retired.
