If Sarah Palin tried to get her brother in law fired was it wrong?

From what I read the man "tazered" her nephew, possibly beat her sister and shot a dear or moose with out a proper license. Shouldn't she have tried to get him fired from his state law enforcement job?

  1. The state investigated him and gave him appropriate punishments for his actions. Further, the 'moose hunting' happened with Palin's own father. These claims were made over a year after the divorce....once Palin was entering the role of governor.  She made these claims when asked if anyone would try to harm her in any way. She then rattled off the ex brother in law and all of his offenses--that he had already been punished for. Suddenly the Safety Commissioner is 'reassigned' without cause. She brings in a guy without checking out his credentials, who turns out to be guilty of a crime. So that guy is given a severence package and sent on his way. She said she and her office had nothing to do with pressuring the safety commissioner...yet she then reverses her statement when tapes are released that show that several members of her staff and even her husband repeatedly called the safety commissioner to pressure him to get wooten out.

  2. That's the GOP way!

  3. Yes, there were legal avenues she should have taken.  Clearly in my opinion it was an abuse of power!

  4. Even if all that were the case; It's not Palin's jurisdiction to handle it. She should file a complaint like any other citizen and then stay out of it and let the proper authorities handle it. Anything else is improperly using her position to try influence an investigation...

  5. It would be an abuse of power,  If he is accused of beating his ex wife then let formal charges be brought against him and let him stand trial,  If Palin fired him as a way of punishing him she would be abusing her power by bypassing the states judicial system.

  6. Not all the accusations towards her brother-in-law were proven to be true (some divorces get pretty nasty and both sides can tell lies). He was penalized by the court for everything he's done wrong (there was an actual investigation about him which proved some and dis-proved other charges against him). Now, if Palin had a legal way to fire him, she wouldn't need to pressure his boss into doing it illegally. But she used her power to fulfill  a personal vendetta which was both wrong and illegal.

  7. I would have tried to get him fired.
