  1. I dont know exactly but I do know the cops have to actually catch you driving with their own eyes to be able to prove that you were even driving to begin with.

  2. Wow, your parents sound like a$$es. They can file a suit but it would get tossed right out. If you have a permit they can teach you on the streets, if not then in a parking lot. Too bad your parents are so controlling.

  3. You cannot legally get a permit without consent of your parents. You can't legally drive, without insurance, which your parents have legal authority over.

If someone were encouraging and condoning my child to break the law.. I think they would have some definite problems.

  4. Anyone can sue anyone else, even if there's no chance of winning.

I can't think of any legal theory under which your parents can sue and win.  However, if they really are vindictive enough to sue, it will probably cost the person who teaches you money to fight the suit, as well as causing stress and inconvenience.

  5. It would depend upon the laws of your state.  But if you're under 18, you would need one of your parents to sign to even get your driver's permit to legally be in the driver's seat.  If you're over 18, then you're an adult and your parents wouldn't be able to sue for this.

  6. If you have a permit, you can drive with anyone 25 or older. You don't need your parents' consent and there's no reason they can sue the other person.

  7. I'm assuming you're under age?  Then your parents can prevent you getting a license, so it really doesn't matter what anyone teaches you.

No, they can't sue someone from teaching you to drive, but they could have someone who fraudulently helps you get a license (such as signing as a parent) charged with fraud.
