  1. You have asked a very difficult question.  I still think the US would do very well.  We certainly would miss the swimmers though.  It is a great event and easy to watch.   I couldn't even predict how many medals we would not have.  I don't even want to think about it.  Sorry

  2. It wont matter because by 2012 the Chinese will find a way to cheat in that event too.

  3. They have won 18 in swimming, 7 gold.

They would only have 11 and 3 of them gold if swimming wasn't part of the games.

  4. A lot. But same with China and athletics and Korea with Bow n Arrow or whatever. Countries with high number of medals have concentrations of them in certain events.

  5. Be nice.  Michael Phelps is just luck that the Chinese couldn't find a 13 or 14 year old Chinese boy to cheat their way to the swimming medal podium.

  6. yeh without swimming USA would be behind....but i like phelps n the swimming!

  7. To answer your question, the US would have *edit* 11 (math is hard) medals right now if not for swimming. But you also have to realize this is only the fifth day of competition and they haven't even started on track and field. And most of the team medals won't be awarded until late next week.
