Talladega Superspeedway generates an annual economic impact of $407 million for the region and the state of Alabama.

The track creates 7,955 jobs The economic impact of the superspeedway is equivalent to 11 percent of Alabama's total revenue from tourism.

$149 million in income for workers throughout Alabama each year

Of the total revenue, state and local governments receive more than $29 million.

  1. No, because Talladega is owned by the France family.  They reap the most rewards from the track, they should be the ones to maintain it.  And I'm pretty sure they can afford it.  :  )


  2. This is a very good question.You would think so..But the land is privately owned.So If the state had anything to do with the track they would be liable for lawsuits..So the answer is no...

  3. i don't think id want the state to pave it . i don't think the state would do a very good job
