I mean, I know he can't match Phelps in golds but that's not what I mean. You can't really measure success at the Olympics by the amount of medals won simply because it's not a fair comparison between sports, with swimming giving medals away like crazy.

After seeing his record breaking performance in the 100 this morning running a 9.69 without trying, you gotta think if he can repeat that twice more in the 200 and 4x100, he might be just as much of a star as Phelps in these Olympics. Probably not though, just because of the exposure Phelps has gotten. Don't get me wrong though, 7 golds probably deserves that kind of exposure. What do you think?

If you haven't seen the race because your from the states and NBC's coverage sucks then I would reserve judgement on this question because I am telling you, Bolt was ridiculous this morning. Watch it.

  1. I believe that Usain Bolt took drugs. He story is very similar to Ben Johnson's--WR time out of nowhere. I ran at a college camp before and this is an obvious sign of doping. He will get away with it because they cannot catch him. Only if he has a good conscience will he admit it.

  2. Ken, you should know that when other nations are good at other sports Jamaicans are good at track and field, Bolt is simply talented and he has been turning heads since high school, he doesn't need drugs, you sound like a sore loser, give credit where credit is due, we should be happy for all the winners in the Olympics, but remember this, "BAD MIND" CANT STOP USAIN BOLT. J.A TO THE UNIVERSE!!!!

  3. JAMAICA TO THE WORLD!

edit: That answer could have been interpreted in two different ways. To me it sounded like you said "yeah whatever he's not white or american so who cares" but i didn't know that you were saying, the media isn't fair.

BTW you shouldn't have answered me with disrespect. I hate people who are like that!

  4. Ken u idiot he did not come out of nowhere he has been running since he was 14 years old he was 200 m gold medalist in the world junior championships and was the youngest of his field just 18 at the athens  olympics in 2004 he only recenly switched to 100m to proove a point that he was capable because noone believed and look how it turned out four years later 2008 he is the fastest man alive dont be hating JAMAICA TO DI weRL!!!!!!!! and no linga to dem. The american druggists them cnt run like we. look pon tyson g*y him come off the drugs and cant do **** (i know he has an injury its just fun to laugh at cocky american and talk trash lol)

  5. no because hes not american and hes not white so the media doesnt care as much

coolq you're dumb. if you can't tell, i was commenting on unfair media bias. just like how a pretty young white girl gets kidnapped and murdered and its all over the news but if it happens to a black girl you don't hear about it

  6. Hi i live in the UK, in London to be particular and i love the Olympics.

I do not know what sort of exposure Phelps or Bolt have had in the US of A, but i saw the 100 m final and it was the greatest thing i have seen an athlete do ever.!

Well done to Phelps on his 8 golds but for me and many other people Usain Bolt is the star of these Olympics and he has the title of the fastest man on earth !

Sorry to hear coverage in the States has not been any good, the BBC's coverage has been awesome with repeats throughout the day.

    Enjoy.

  7. Ken you'e an idiot!

  8. Indeed, I agree. Phelps had the opportunity to qualify for and win 8 gold - if he does then that is fantastic.

Bolt had the opportunity to qualify for and win 3 gold - if he does, that would be equally fantastic.

Bolts achievement should in no way be diminished because there is only the option to go from a to b - where as in swimming there is 4.

I will say however that I am a little iffy on the swimming relays simply because the team that qualifies is not necessarily the same people stood on the dias having medals hung around their necks. I think that if these swimmers are good enough to take all the credit, then they should qualify for themselves. JMHO.

  9. wow i was amazed when i heard about it and i hate nbc i live in the states and i can't watch it because they haven't shown it they are dumb i tried bbc but i can't watch their video because i live on the states how rude
