If WW3 begun, how would countries ally with one another?

There are several trading and actual agreements between countries that unite them in war or any other issues that may arise. I am wondering if you could help me understand what countries are allies, even if they are small countries.

Let me know what you know as I am partially lost in this matter, and i would like to know.

For example, I know how Venezuela and Cuba are always against democracy, not like the rest of countries in the Americas that are very democratic. I know both countries support Iran and North Korea, etc.

Very few countries in the Americas are pro-democratic. They're democratic when the cameras are clicking but most of them are defacto tyrannies.

It's hard to tell who would be allies during another WW. It depends on how the conflict starts and who started it.

One vast area soon covered with whats left after the nuclear bombings would confront another one completely similar in all aspects.
