The problem is .. who has enouh funds to buy Murray out and then re-invest in the squad, as sad as it sounds, I dont think there is anyone who wants that responsibility in scottish football.  You would need a guarantee of Champions league every year for a while to recoup the money.  The old arguement comes back that Rangers and Celtic are just too big for Scottish Football.  The original question, I think it would be wrong for walter Smith to go as this time
