Will he move down to middleweight and immediately fight Anderson. Will he have to work his way up or just become a gate keeper for 205

  1. Wanderlei has already stated that he is thinking about moving down to 185lb.  I love Wanderlei, but he is too small to "dominate" the light heavy division.  He can deliver great fights at that weight class, but why should he?  He should & probably will move down to fight Anderson Silva which will probably be a great fight, which will lead to a rematch & a possible 3rd fight if they split.  It gives him a more reasonable path to earning a belt as oppossed to fighting guys like the size of Liddell, Jardine, Rampage, Forest, Machida.

  2. I doubt he will drop down anytime soon. There are too many rumors of rematches.

  3. He said he's contemplating moving down regardless, and that he'd like to fight some other guys 1st since it wouldn't be fair to jump right in and face Anderson (Keep in mind that Anderson and Wanderlei are friends and use to train together so he'd really like to earn a bout if he has to face him.)

By the same token, he's eyeing a 3rd fight with Rampage.

If he loses, he absolutely drops down to 185. If he wins, then I think he waits to see who the UFC wants him to fight. I figure he'll go to 185 though. At 5'11, he's one of the shortest fighters in LHW.

  4. He will probally stay at his weight class.
