If We No Longer Could Get Oil From The Middle East How Would Kids Get To School?

This could happen , if the Middle East has a WWIII, have to admit its really unstable in Iran and Pakistan and they don't like us very much. We have 4 Oil Co. bids on Iraq Oil and that will help, but if Obama wins and takes out our troops Al Qaeda and Taliban take over Iraq we have No Oil . We depend on them. If one day we got no more oil from the Middle East cause we have more oil in the US than the entire Middle East does but Congress don't want to drill it up - how the heck would the School Buses run? How do we get to work?Use Vegy oil? I don't think theres enough vegy oil, then we wont have vegys. Don't we need to drill for oil? Do majority democrats in Congress want us to have a depression? Thats what Im starting to think, they are against all energy! Should we start cutting down trees and stocking up on logs for the winter?

Do you think Congress has investments in the alcohol and Crisco ? What is going on!?

  1. The sad answer to your question is,we will never let anyone take away our oil.If it came down to it we would destroy anyone that tried. You don't think we have played all our cards do you?The truth is,we control this world right now and there isn't anyone that can do anything about it.

Think what you want and say what you want but the truth is our only enemy is our self,or,I should say,the people that would deprive us of our GOD given rights.

  2. older and wiser PLEASE mccain finished near the bottom of his class at the military academy while Obama finished near the top at Harvard.  the middle east does not have a monopoly on oil and if your mccain is elected we probably will have world war 3 is that what you really want??  There are other methods and that is What Obama wants Its called change

  3. The same way kids got to school for 2000 years before we had cars and buses - they put one foot in front of the other and walk. I agree with kc2qzd: the exercise would do them some good.

  4. Well since childhood obesity is at all time highs, walking or jogging comes to mind.

  5. First issue you address is what would we do? The same thing we did during the oil shortage of 1974. Kids living within a couple miles of school would have to start walking. Everyone else would have to car pool.

The second issue is why politicians don't listen to the voters.   Multinational companies using Political Action Committees and special interest groups get politicians elected. The spend millions of dollars on candidates that will pass legislation beneficial to the SI group or Companies.

When was the last time you or I paid for Television ads, Bill Boards, or Flyer's for a candidate. I haven't ever had the money to do that. Most of us have only been able to display a bumper sticker paid for by one of the PAC's or S.I. groups.

Proven political science fact is put a candidates' name in front of voters enough times, and they will vote for him regardless of what or who he represents. PAC's and S.I. groups have the money to buy the election with advertisement.

So the short answer is, politicians can ignore the electorate as long as they have the support of PAC's and S.I. groups.

  6. Walk. Ride bikes. Skateboards.

  7. i guess someone is pro mccain, anti obama.  wont you calm down for a second.  if such a thing really did happen, dont you think the govt would start drilling for oil in alaska and in the gulf more? its not like they are gonna be "oh well tough s**+ t" ethanol is a bad option regardless of how good it seemed in the recent past, and drilling in alaska can and will disrupt the environment which is why they dont want to drill there right now. honestly we did this to ourselves.   this is our own problem.  us big bad americans in the past thought "we have oil coming out our butts, itll never run out, instead of building contained cities, we will just become the definition of urban sprawl and commute 2 hours to work every day.  because of urban sprawl, public transportation isnt very efficient because it isnt very wide spread. sure its fine in new york and san fran and new orleans (well sorta) but for most of the country that isnt an option. We should be fortunate to be paying 4 bucks a gallon for gas. in the uk right now it costs about 9/10 dollars a gallon.  can you imagine spending 100 dollars to fill up a toyota corolla, or 200 bucks to fill up your toyota tundra?

so yea hope that gave you some perspective

  8. we might survive on bio fuels and other alternative energys as well as coal that has been converted to oil.

  9. It's our politicians job to research these issues.  Most Americans do not have the time or the drive to understand economics to such a nuanced detail to take in account the global market, supply/demand, etc.

Economists say drilling here will not make an impact for around 10years and, at most, would decrease the cost about 25cents/gallon.  That's a lot of investment and a lot of potential environmental nightmares for such a little gain.  And this is with almost 3/4 of the land set aside already just being sat on by Big Oil because it's more profitable for them not to drill now.

The devastated value of the U.S. dollar is the major cause for the high cost of gas, it has lost HALF of it's trading value since Bush was sworn into office.  Followed by an unregulated speculation market.  OPEC increased the supply of Oil last week -- during a time that demand has lowered and guess what?  The price still went up.  This shows how insanely bad the value of our dollar is and how far speculators will go to exploit the market.

P.S.  China is not drilling oil 60miles off our coast that was a LIE that Cheney had to apologize about.

Cheney's office said in a statement to The Associated Press that the vice president had erred. "It is our understanding that, although Cuba has leased out exploration blocks 60 miles off the coast of southern Florida, which is closer than American firms are allowed to operate in that area, no Chinese firm is drilling there."

  10. We don't need no steenkin ME oil! We have our own. We just need to go and get it.

We also have the ability to ramp up nuclear power very quickly with political mandates to get the red tape and law suits out of the way.

  11. Yes, our government has been working toward bringing down the middle class for a while now. They are scared of the people that want it to change. They want us broke and using public transit so we go where they take us when they want us to. They have found willing partners with the envior"mental"ists that want the same. The worship of earth has replaced the worship of God.

I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, there are a few oil drilling riggs here. Thats where the fish are. Go figure. A real enviormentalist would want us to drill our own oil so we can make it as enviormentaly safe as possible. Do you really think the arab terrorists produce oil with the best interests of the earth in mind?

  12. WHOA, too many anti-Democrat statements for me to handle!  What you're suggesting is that we drain another country of its oil for our own benefit.  WHY?!  Oh, and this may seem anti-Republican, but this is as equally as bad as what you said: How'd we get into this oil crisis in the first place?  It all started around 2000... what happened that year... something significant?

  13. If WWIII comes along, and the nukes come out - School buses will be the last thing on anyone's mind.

  14. life as we knew it is over ..there is going to be a great depression , and a revolution for new goverment and change

drilling? why dont you just destroy the earth for youre own comfort and convienience? ..how selfish and ignorant can you be?
