Also Sue T she is never biased and shows great insight and opinions also without putting down other teams just sticking up for her beloved eagles.

OMG OMG OMG I missed WEST coast, i'm ever so sorry how could i miss you, you are always there with facts and great explainations to all your answers. So often i have very similar views as her, she also shows amazing passion for her team.

  10. The best users on here are you GFCBARRACKER and lozz and also Romper, I have been here for a bit under a year now and it has been great

  11. GFCBarracker or Romper for his different and sometimes "weird" answers.

  12. I would also vote for GFCBARRACKER.

He is obviously pasionate for his team, and I admire the way he still supports his team from such a long way from Australia!

And WCEagles because she is a true supporter of her team, and always has fair answers.

  13. Wow, I feel flattered with all the comments. Americans are so hated by many in other countries, I figured I would be labeled a troll, getting into a sport that is exclusively Australian.

Romper has the most best answers, followed by Rogue. I would vote for them for the Brownlow.

Good to see you back here Forky, Big Kev and also Richo Fev has been back recently.

I read the Age and Herald Sun websites everyday trying to figure out as much as I can about footy all year round. The sports media in America, such as the Associated Press, ESPN, Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC do not discuss the ladder, the teams, the players, the finals. I understand, not many know, have heard of footy, except they laugh about the goal umpires.

The AFL doesn't do anything about marketing the game to the USA. I don't mean playing games here, but there are millions, yes millions of advertising dollars waiting for AFL pockets if Andrew would try. Most Americans think Aussie Rules is rugby, including the commentators during gridiron when Sav Rocca or Ben Graham kick the football here in the NFL.

There in Oz, unless somebody is really hardcore like I am about footy, most sporting fans probably doesn't pay much attention to major league baseball, NFL gridiron or NHL ice hockey. The baseball scores and the standings (ladder) are in the Age each day. Most likely the American sport most followed by Australians is the NBA, I could care less, but also golf and tennis. ESPN comes to the tennis in Melbourne each year, and NBC to the Olympics in 2000 in Sydney, but nothing about footy.

Cricket is almost non-existant here, I have watched the Ashes when in Oz. The game is very interesting, lasts longer than baseball, but I am still not 100 percent sure about the rules as opposed to baseball.

When I found the footy by total accident in 1982, I had to watch the highlights show for a whole year before I understood what was going on. My parents and friends here think I am crazy, having been to Oz 5 times, over $1000US just for the airplane each time. I have enjoyed my time, but I haven't been back since ANZAC weekend in 2003. I hope to save the money so I can come to the footy in 2009, maybe meet up with some of you for a cup of coffee at the hotel in Melbourne.

Andrew Demetriou has kept footy away from my television here in Kansas since the 2005 Grand Final. Footy is supposed to be on a satellite only station called Setanta North America. I can't get it, so I listen to 3AW, ABC, Triple M, K-Rock on the Internet. I listened to the Grand Final last year and I cried when it was over. I had been through 4 GF losses by Geelong since I started supporting them.

The DVD came in the end of October and it was awesome. I have all the GF on tape or DVD since 1995, plus 1989, 1966, 1970 and both 1977 Grand Finals. In total I have at least 40 footy tapes or DVD's.

Again, thanks for the compliments. I hope I have a good week in picking for this round. I have a shot of winning all three tip comps I am in. Yes, I do study before I decide each week, sometimes it takes an hour or more for me to decide on all 8 games. Is that obsessive?

Good luck to all who answered, for your side, whoever it may be the rest of the way.

I am very superstitious about sport, so I did not wear any Geelong gear on GF day last year. I have no comment about the finals, other than I hope Geelong wins. Talking any trash or sh*t as we would say in America is bad luck as far as I am concerned. We will just wait and see what happens, listen to Internet and hope for the best if Geelong is at the G on the big day again.

  14. In no particular order

Rouge, Romper, x man, Cozzy, GFC, smashitup, and Lozz

Yeah, GFC is awesome, supporting the cats all the way from the US.

Love all my contacts in AFL. Been a fun time.

Don't know what I'll do when the season is over, guess I'll go back to Jokes and Riddles

  15. It's a tie between two. Smashitup knows his footy and Romper's always good for a laugh.

  16. That is tooo hard!

I think Lozz....Magpie girl would give it a shake. She manages to support her team completely with one eye but does so without offending or upsetting!

Anyone who manages to be funny without being cruel also (I am a little scared of picking people in case they are a troll and you all think I am a complete knucklehead for not knowing this!!)

Romper is always funny, GFC barracker for someone who supports a sport he sees very little of and that his country knows nothing about, Asterix cracks me up, anyone who sticks up for West Coast, Oh the list goes on......

This category is sooo much fun (mostly) except for the odd nrl folk who come over to stir up trouble.
