  1. It will work just fine.  As long as the current (amp rating) is sufficent to charge the battery you are good to go. Since 1.5 is more than 1 you are fine.  Just be sure the VOLTAGES match as well as the polarity! (Voltage and polarity of the voltage is critically important.)
