  1. i would also like to know im in research for that breed  thats really sad what idiots well at least they told you,,i wonder what it will eat of if its like any other domestic thing that will not understand how to hunt

  2. If the bird is fully feathered and flies around the house, chances are he could go miles.  He's probably not in great aerobic condition as a wild bird would be, so I'd think within a mile or two.  He is totally scared, confused and unaware of where he is at.  In the wild, Greys are incredible flyers.  Good Luck and I agree.... it's to bad more care was not taken.  Such is the demise of many wonderful birds.  If the bird is accustomed to people, it should eventually grow so hungrey it might approach someone.  The biggest threat is other animals, birds, cats or in some cases cars.  Get signs up and posted in area, even the local paper classified and radio stations.  You might be surprised, I've heard about it working nefore.  Good Luck!

  3. I have seen reports that birds have been found as far as 35 miles away. It is all according to what kind of winds that he caught, how good of condition that he was in. Did he get flight exercise in the house. They should save their money up for another bird. I think most of the birds that get out end up in another house. They just keep them instead of saying they found them. Some get caught by birds of prey. A falcon, Red Tail Hawk, Coopers Hawk or a Sharp shinned Hawk can catch a parrot. They might not attack a Macaw but would catch amazons and Greys.

Put up fliers around the area. Look at the weather map for the day the bird flew out. Place your fliers in that direction. Hang them in Pet shops and anywhere else that they will let you hang them.

  4. they can travel quite a ways. It is too bad that the couple didn't care more for such a loving and intelligent pet bird. Yeah, I have 2 greys.
