I mean since suicide is still kind of like murder, just murder of your own life. And is not like when they die they can ask for repentance of murder? (I am not suicidal, just want to know)

  1. this has always confused me. God sees all sin the same whether its murder, idolatry, adultery. its all the same in his eyes.

some say Suicide is automatic h**l. i dont know if that is true. murders accept God all the time and are forgiven. so why wouldn't a christian who killed himself/herself not make it to heaven? that would just one sin they never got to repent for. which is very dangerous.

  2. It depends on the mental state you have when you do this. Mental illness is not your fault. God is not going to d**n you because you are mentally ill and took your own life.

If you do it for attention or if you do it and you weren't crazy, but just selfish, then yeah, h**l would be your destination, but those cases are rare.

  3. I believe when a Christian comes to the point of suicide that there is a chemical imbalance and they are not thinking correctly.  I would say they do go to heaven if they are out of their mind, but only God knows.

  4. No, I have heard that they definitely do not go there.  Have you seen the movie "what dreams may come" with robin williams? That kind of is related to your question and you should see it sometime.  I think that the basis of your question is correct.  Also, it seems insulting if God gives you life and a body and you just kill yourself. We are put here for a reason and if you kill yourself you are not accomplishing that. Or you are just trying to cheat and get to heaven earlier.  At our church they teach that one of the things we have to do is 'endure to the end' so committing suicide is definitely bad in my church.

  5. If they were a true Christian, why would they want to commit suicide in the first place?

    (just want to know)

  6. Victor 7707 is absolutely right.  Acceptance of Christ's death covers * all * sins.  All.

For those who believe in God but feel this is an unforgivable sin, consider this:  Who, in their * right * mind, commits suicide?  Aside from nutjob terrorists, no one else kills themselves because they feel it is * right * ?    Someone who commits suicide is at the end of their mental rope and is, therefore, more than likely incapable of rational thought.

  7. No killing one's self is a act against the 5th commandment (which is a mortal sin), your life belongs to God, and He alone can take it away.  One who commits suicide will go strait to h**l.

  8. If they are genuinely saved, then yes. But they WILL have to answer to God for their lack of trust in Him. And they will miss out on many of the rewards that await believers in heaven.

  9. If a person has been born again, then we know that *nothing* can separate him from God (Romans 8:35). So even suicide cannot separate a true born again Christian from God's love. Hence that person will still go to heaven.

  10. That's a very good question, and one which has stirred up a lot of good and very different views...and i enjoyed reading some of the answers...Personally, I don't know, even though I have read and am reading the Bible...It still remains unclear to me....But one thing i know for sure, and that is....I do not want to take any chances, in finding out...and so, even though life is really hard sometimes, and i have been stricken with some illnesses in my life, I would still(even though the thoughts have crossed my mind), would never consider it, and would Not !

  11. according to the Bible the word suicide means self-murder.  murder is a sin and it would be the last sin you committed.

  12. yes.....reward however is ETERnal life..

  13. suicide has nothing to do with salvation, accepting Jesus has your Saviour is a once in a life time deal, you can only be born once physically and you can only be born once Spiritually, no matter how you die it has nothing to do with whether you were a believer or not.

  14. h**l

they would belong to the Devil

  15. Yes.

A Christian would go to heaven. We all will. This is our assurance.

Getting there does not depend upon anything that we do. Heaven is God's gift to those who wish to be with Him for eternity.
