If a Democrat had a 17 yo pregnant daughter, wouldn't they be attacked by Right wingers?

If this had been one of the Democratic candidates (assuming one had a 17 yo daughter), do you have any doubts that they would be attacked on the "Family Values" issue?

It SHOULD be a private thing and not have any affect on the race, which is what Republicans are calling for, but would they feel the same if the situation was reversed?

Exactly. Let's say one of Obama's daughters was of the same age and going through the same thing. People would readily attack him for his lack of bringing up his daughters properly, and would snicker behind his back, laying claim to his daughter's condition on his ethnicity/race. Yeah, he'd be attacked, with a**holes like Rush Limbaugh leading the charge against him. It's like a cop trying to say his child stealing a car was just his child being a kid, but ready to throw the book at the sheriff's kid for doing the same.

I'm a Republican who is disgusted with the media digging into people's families.  Nobody has control over their family members.  

It doesn't matter what your political affiliation is, your family shouldn't be attacked (unless they are giving speeches and playing an active role in your campaign).

Oh as far as the situation is concerned had she not been a politician, I don't think she'd have even cared who her daughter married with or went out with and 5 months preg. she'd have said "  Damnnnn now I'll be a granny when I was supposed to be a mommy " lol she'd not have truly cared much.

It's just the need of the hour that made her do such a thing and get out in public with her statement.

I try to look past all the BS and focus on the important things.

Anyone who is swayed by the drama deserves who and what they get.
