Is there any standard percentage that's taken (so I can do the math on the take home) no matter the amount won?

And are there any good links for reliable info on this? Thanks

  1. they walk away with the million dollars that they won.

  2. They are taxed a good 33% right off the top.  Out of one million, they probably get about six hundred and fifty thousand.

  3. it depends if it is tax excluded or will be taxed. the tax percentage depends on the law of the government for money that is being given by gameshows. it varies like casino jackpots

  4. I think they are taxed a good 25-30%. Since the game show takes place in CA, they are taxed the CA state income tax.
