If a TV only has a headphone out jack and no digital audio out, can I still connect an audio out to it?

Im looking into buying the Vizio VW26L and it doesn't have a digital audio out port, but it has a headphone jack. Can I connect a surround sound system like one for a computer to it? Thanks!!!

Yes, the headphone jack is an audio output.  If the speaker system has a headphone plug, just plug it into the jack on the TV.

yes you can use the headphone jack but don't feel like you have to suffer with computer speakers. audio is the most important part of the experience... you can get a 3.5mm to rca cable anywhere that sells ipods and connect that headphone jack to the red and white audio in on any system. but fyi, if you get an hd tv, you will need an hd box from your cable/sat company and that box will have access to digital audio outs such as optical.
