  1. if they plan to fly in to Canada yes they need a passport

    i driving, government issued photo ID (license)  and proof of residency is all that's need right now


  2. No, a driving license can work for him, or his SS identity card can do it. But I suppose there is no harm in taking the passport.

  3. Yes, if you fly you most certainly need a passport.

  4. Yes.  Your US green card is not proof of citizenship.  It is proof that you can legally live and work in the US.  You will need it to get back to the US, but you need your the passport of the country where you CITIZENSHIP is.

    I'm a Canadian, living in Taiwan.  Whenever we travel, people want to see my Canadian passport.  Airline clerks and immigration officers couldn't care less that I have a Republic of China Alien Resident Certficate.
