  1. Yes.  It has to do with the genes, phenotypes, and genotypes.  I remember it from biology class, and the link below goes into detail.

  2. yes... it's in the genome sequence.

    g=green

    b=brown

    bl=blue

    dad can have the combination of   b bl  but still have brown eyes

    mom can have the combination of   g bl  but still have green eyes

    combined  b bl  and  g bl   bl is the dominant trait... so the baby can have blue eyes

  3. Yes, absolutely. By simple genetics, it could have gotten one blue eye gene from each parent. Each parent could have one blue eye gene and one gene for another eye color.

    But in fact human genetics is much more complex than simple traits. There is not one single gene for eye color. The apparent eye color in human beings is the result of an interaction of many genes.

    Another thing that can happen is a child can get a defective copy of a parent's gene. A defective gene for brown eyes might not produce any brown pigment at all. The gene can become defective in the sperm or egg cell or in the cells that produced it while working copies of the gene are present in the rest of the body.

  4. I would say yes. My mom has brown hair and brown eyes. My dad has dark brown hair and eyes. I came out having blonde hair ( which has darkened )with blue eyes. My brother also has blue eyes. And yes he is my dad. lol. So I would say yes....

  5. I believe that it can if a recessive gene.  A long time since I had that in biology, so I might be wrong.
