If a baby has bilateral renal pelvis is it dangerous?

i am carrying and have completed 22 weeks, i got it done my scanning at 19th week where the report says that the fetal kidneys show bilateral prominent renal pelvis measuring 4.9mms on right side and 5.9mms on left side in AP diameter .

  1. Paul B is absolutely correct! Your OB has several options. He can refer you to a perinatologist or, if available in your area, a  pediatric urologist.

    However, I do recall several cases such as yours where the infant appeared normal after birth and post-partum renal ultrasounds were normal. But I cannot speak to the measurements you detail. You need an expert.


  2. Ask your ob/gynaecologist NOW.

    If you have nothing to worry about, you will be able to stop worrying.

    If there are problems, you obviously need to know about them as a matter of URGENCY.
