If a boxer threw no punches and only took punches for 10 rounds, would that make him tough as nails?

Take for instance, he has a whole bunch of blood streaming down his face and he is still shouting loudly in a real macho manner in the 10th round.

Good chance that this fight would have been stopped well before it reached that point and would probably get disqualified for not fighting.  It would make him a punching bag while it lasted and make him look really stupid.

I am assuming that this is a joke. But what will really make him tough as nails is if he does all that you mentioned and still knocks out his opponent after the 10th round.

Uh no! That wouldn't make him a fighter at all!! Plus if you knew anything about Boxing, the fight wouldn't go 10 rounds if the guy couldn't defend himself and not throw any punches himself!

It would make him clumsy and stupid. He would lose on points for throwing no punches. I cannot imagine any bout in which such a thing would happen. Rocky Marciano had his face bloodied for ten rounds or more, and he even had his nose split, but he was trying to land punches, and when he finally did, he won by a KO.

Here's the real question, what boxer would actually do that? In order to win you have to hit back, so if you're just taking the hits you're letting your opponent not only score points but putting the pressure on you and beating the **** out of you as well as taking your energy away. It would be impressive if the boxer who didn't throw the punches would slip and dodge every single punch his opponent threw at him through all the rounds though.

Well if he got to the 10th round and he threw no punches he is a skilled man as he must of been fast and a good mover......but he must be fighting

5 year old if it was a boxer he was in there with he would be out in a flash and fast asleep. But tough as nails? there not tough. silly more like...
