  1. Is it a domestic rabbit?  If it is, then consider that it may be someone's lost pet.  Go ahead and take it home if you can catch it.  Read up on proper care and nutriton requirements for domestic rabbits, first, though.  Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits by Bob Bennet is a great book.  So is Your Rabbit - A Kid's Guide to Raising and Showing if you're a young kid.

Put up flyers in your neighborhood saying you found a rabbit so the owners may retrieve their lost pet.  Also, call your local shelter and make a formal report. They may have you come in and fill out a "Found Pet" form so that when people coming in looking for lost pets, they can look through the book to see if anyone found and is currently taking care of their lost pet.  Then the owners will be able to retrieve their pet.  The PennySaver and most newspapers allow free advertising for lost/found pets.  Craigslist is also free.  I'd give it a good month of heavily advertising before you give up and call the rabbit yours.

I used to volunteer at a busy animal shelter and I know rabbits.  They can be escape artists.  A roaming domestic rabbit can mean lots of things.  Someone doesn't care about letting their rabbit run loose OR someone cares deeply about their rabbit and is loosing sleep over it getting loose.  It's not for you to decide which it is.

Read up on proper rabbit care, catch the rabbit, advertise heavily that you found it, care for it, and hope for the best.

    Good luck.

(if it is wild (not domestic), then, of course, leave it.)

  2. keep

it buy a cage and keep him in the celler that way hes in ur hosue but not quit enough to do damage or harm you incase he is wild

  3. If it is a wild rabbit, then no.  It is illegal to harbor wild animals.  And if it is a feral rabbit, which I suspect it isn't since it would be dead by now, I would leave it alone.

Rabbits are not like dogs and cats where they have collars and tags.  Leave him or her alone.  Wild animals are different from domesticated animals (plus it's a criminal offense).

  4. leave the wild rabbit in the wild. you can't captivcate a wild animal and try to domesticate it, it will more then likely die within weeks. if you want a rabbit go to the store and buy one.
