If a camera phone has 5 megapixel, it will take good photos but does the cameras high quality work on vids?

like if u have a high quality camera phone will it also take high quality videos also?

Check device's specifications. Some 5 MP devices have great video recording functions ( like Nokia's N95 and N82, with their 30 fps) while others might not have it at all (see the iPhone, with a 2MP camera but no video recording)

Hi, generally yes, the better the camera, the better the video you can record, however, there may be limitations on the phone, for example frame rate or resolution. You can change this on some phones, so you can pick the highest setting.

In theory, you can record DVD quality videos with 5 mega pixels. There will be some 8 mega pixel cameras out in October which you might want to look at too if video quality is important to you.

Make sure you've got enough memory if your going to be recording lots of high quality videos, some phones don’t have expandable memory slots.

You'll have to read the specifications on your phone. Usually the vid quality is much lower than the picture quality. But not always. It depends on the phone. Check your manual or call the manufacturer or look on the web for the specs. My Kodak digital camera takes great vids, and it is 8 Megapixel . But, my webcam on my monitor takes good pictures as well, but the vids are low quality. You may be able to set the video quality on the phone. Check that, and set it to the highest quality.

No. The video camera on phones is usually much lower resolution than the still pictures.

I've owned several cameras, all 4 megapixel and higher.  I have never been able to get as good quality in my videos as I do in my stills.
