It should have half decent mileage. Most of the real good mileage cars have 1.6 or less.

Very generally speaking, the smaller the displacement, the less fuel an engine uses but engine size alone does not determine a vehicle's fuel efficiency.

Engine displacement is only one part of the equation.  Gearing is another while vehicle weight and aerodynamics are among other contributing factors.

Also, regardless of which engine is in the vehicle.  The biggest variable is the how that vehicle is driven.  If you consistently floor the accelerator pedal, the mileage will decrease significantly.

yeah! a 2.5 will have good gas mileage and power.... you should  not have to sacrifice fuel economy with a 2.5... you should expect maybe 28 on highway and 24 or 25 with mixed driving
