  2. reset your mileometer to 0. When your car runs out of fuel (or nearly) see how many miles you have done. So if you do 250 miles your fuel consumption would be 11.49km per litre.

  3. Fill your tank to the top. Set the mileometer to zero. when you refill next, fill to the top,note the mileage you have done.Check the miles and fuel used, then dived miles covered to fuel used and you have your consumption or / distance in miles at hand.

  4. Regardless of the size of tank, I think the normal way is by reading the numbers that scroll round on your speedo.

  5. Fill the tank until the nozzle trips out ie full to the top, and set the trip meter. Run until the tank is virtually empty and repeat the filling procedure. Note how much fuel it takes to fill the tank and divide the number of miles by the amout of fuel, this will give you the mpg or mplitre
