If a cat only has a tiny bit of chocolate, will he be okay?

My numskull cat, despite me pushing him out of the way while I was eating chocolate cereal, stuck his head in the bowl and took 2 or three licks of the chocolaty milk. Do you think I should be worried? He is a big guy, about 14.5 pounds.

No. Most pets can't have chocolate because it has a chemical in it that helps strengthen the flavor of the chocolate. If your cats been healthy and up to date on his/her shots a couple of licks won't harm him. But just in case it DOES affect him [watch him closely for the next few hours and if he shows any signs of nausea, dizziness, or discomfort] take him to the vet ASAP!

Chocolate is one of the last things you'd want a cat to eat. Still only a couple of licks of a mostly artificially flavored chocolate cereal won't do no harm.

He should be fine as long as he doesnt get it all the time, my cats pull the same stuff, they like to stick there paws in my chocolate milk and l**k it off thier paws.

there should be nothing to worry about if he only took a few licks of chocolate. i would not advise feeding it to your cat regularly though. it is harmful if he has too much. so over all, your cat should be fine. if your still worried go to ask.com and type in "Is it okay for cat's to eat chocolate?" and you should get an answer from one of the website. hope this helped.

Yes he will be my cat had a piece of a chocolate bar. And it was a kitten but he got into it. He was fine. the kitty willl be fine.

your cat should be fine. Ive had my cats eat some chocolate on accident and it never hurt them. just don't let him eat a lot of it lol

the most that can happen is he is the tiniest bit of diarrhea but i doubt that

my kitten always comes to me while im eatin cereal (specifically choco cereal) and tries to l**k the bowl so i put the bowl in the air and she tries to jump up and get it

Your cat will be fine! Since he didn't get to much. No need to worry! Just make sure you don't give him chocolate on purpose.
