a cat always lands on its feet after being dropped over a height of 8 feet, and aparently its terminal velocity is less than what it takes to kill it so if a cat was dropped from the top empire state building would it die?

  1. Yes.  And so would the person who dropped it.  I wouldn't stop the people who throw that person from the observation deck, either.

  2. yes it would die, because contrary to popular belief, cats don't always land on their feet. Also, as you fall, you gain momentum, speed, and acceleration. The empire state building is 102 stories tall, so the momentum gained during this fall would most definetly kill the cat, and also whoever or whatever the cat lands on.

fun fact: if you dropped a penny from the empire state building, it would drill through the pavement because of momentum.

  3. Yeah.

  4. Well, most likely. It would use all of it's 9 lives. :P If it didn't, that would be one lucky cat... but it probably would have problems living after, so yeah it would because owners wouldn't want it to live like that, and put it down. So yup it would. (:

  5. Of course it would. So would anyone that it landed on.

  6. No. The Empire State Building is constructed in such a way that (1) it would be hard to throw the cat off and (2) the building bulges out at several points, so that the drop would not be all that far. The cat would be pretty messed up though but not as badly as the person who threw it.

  7. You can be about as certain that it would die as you can be of anything.

  8. It wouldn't live

  9. What type of dumb question is that?  Yes it would die!!!!
