  1. It's perfectly all right to breed related birds together, as long as they are good stock to start with. Be sure to cull any substandard progeny, as they will perpetuate undesirable characteristics in future generations.

  4. I have the same situation at my house! In the chicken world it's perfectly ok for parents to breed with offspring, it's only when the inbreeding gets down to the fourth or fifth generation that you start getting problems. Of course it depends on how inbred the line that rooster came from is, but I expect you would have no trouble whatsoever.

Perhaps when you pair up the offspring from the rooster and daughters (if you intend to keep them), try and source another rooster to get some new bloodlines.

  5. First, second and even third generation is fine but by then you've either replaced the rooster or the hens with new blood in the line.

That is why so many chicken farms cull the herd in particular for a better quality of meat.  It doesn't matter as much for laying hens.

The best chicken you can get is a free range.

    I'm against battery chickens.

  6. Get new 'rooster'. If you breed the father with the daughters, the chicks will be deformed. Animals are like humans. Breed human family together, imbred, you will get deformed children

  7. thats insest you gonna get one screwed up chicken luv
