Chris is right in that it basically takes about 3 weeks before you'll see the fry out in the tank and around, and that's mostly provided they are in their own tank.  Basically, her fertilized eggs will begin hatching at about 7-10 days, but they aren't really able to free swim.  They would still be attached to the yolk sac and need to still live out of mom's mouth.  After the second week, most of the developement is actually done, and able to free swim for the most part.  There may be times, if you have the female in her own tank, you might see fry out and about from small periods of time from the second week on.


  2. it takes about 3 weeks before they fertilize the eggs in their mouths the female looks after them and let the fry once hatched swim back and forth in her mouth to protect from danger
