  1. Give me your location and I'll see if I can provide you with an explanation.

    ______

Mid-Atlantic is still so vague- the cold front is still draped across that region, splitting NC is half right now. the front is weak, and the cold air advection behind it is not blowing in with any real force. Plus, there may be some local effect causing this phenomenon, such as the front getting tangled in the mountains, or some other scenario, and I do not know exactly where you are so I cannot tell even how long ago your front passed or even if it is all the way through.

    Location is key.

  2. The Term "Cold" is relative.   A front is classified as a Cold front if the temperature behind the front is colder than the ground it is moving over.

So if the temperature has been 95 degrees the last few days and the air behind the cold front is 90, then it is indeed both a cold front and still hot.  The big difference should be in the relative humidity though.

There is a big comfort difference between 90 dedgrees with 75% humidity and 90 degrees with 95% humidity.
