be very careful.. we have a friend that is on ss.. his wife works, but if she makes over "x" dollars, he does not get his check.. might ask ss what the marriage qualifications are...

Unfortuantely most of the time yes it does.  My grandmother had the same situation.  They went to Mexico and got married because it is not recognized in the US.  So in their eyes and Gods eyes they were married.  Good luck!
