  2. Well, since we know a cube has six equal sides, we can find out the area of one side by saying

    294/6 = a(1)

    a(1) = 49

    And we know that each side is a square, so all the edges are equal

    And we find the area of a square by multiplying the edge by itself

    To go backwards, we find the square ROOT of the area

    49(sqrt) = 7

    So the length of an edge on the cube (it's height, width, OR length) is 7cm

    And to find the volume we simply cube that length

    7x7x7 = 343cm^3
